March is Women’s History Month, a time for women to be honored and remembered. The theme this year is “Writing Women Back into History.”
This year’s theme focuses on women, most of whom will never be written about, because they are mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, teachers, caregivers and the lady down the street who makes the best homemade pies.
Women’s History Month highlights the contributions of notable and ordinary women, in hopes that the day will soon come when it’s impossible to teach history without remembering these contributions.
America’s spirit has been challenged these past few years and it is more important than ever to acknowledge those women who’ve helped during the country’s struggle. read more...
