During a visit to Vance Air Force Base Monday to Wednesday, the command chief master sergeant of Air Education and Training Command said AETC is doing very well in the global war on terrorism.

Wing safety earns honors
The 71st Flying Training Wing Safety Office recently received one Air Force and two Air Education and Training Command level awards.
The office received the Air Force Chief of Safety Outstanding Achievement Award for Ground Safety for the small base category, the AETC Gen Frank Lahm trophy for achievements in flight safety, and the AETC To Promote Safety Award for best overall safety program.

When 2d Lt Matthew Franchetti, 71st Flying Training Wing legal office, suggested the Company Grade Officers Council hire a clown to make balloons at the Mardi Gras party Saturday, he wasn’t volunteering himself.
But Saturday night found Lieutenant Franchetti in face paint, making balloon figures for three hours straight.
