When an Air Force pilot has done everything he can think of to try and save a crippled aircraft, and nothing has worked, his only remaining option is to eject.
When that pilot pulls the firing handle, he expects rockets to propel him out of and safely away from his crippled aircraft.
The next time a Vance Air Force Base pilot pulls that handle, the plane’s ejection seat will do its job, said Arnold Miller, Computer Sciences Corp., leadman in the VAFB egress shop.
