Mississippi kites are a long-winged raptor bird that are extremely territorial over their nests. Kites are found in scattered concentrations mostly in the central and southern U.S. According to All About Birds, the Mississippi kite began nesting abundantly in U.S. urban areas in the ‘70s. The bird will attack people who venture too close to its nest, particularly in urban areas. (Photo provided)
