Telling the story
Col. Chris Nowland, 71st Flying Training Wing commander at Vance Air Force Base, is interviewed by Stephanie Wnetrzak, PEGASYS public relations coordinator, while A.J. Wells runs the camera and Dane Tate captures the audio. The PEGASYS crew was filming the hour-long documentary “54 Weeks: A Story of Pilot Training at Vance,” which began airing this week. The people serving, living and working at Vance Air Force Base know what it takes to turn out the world’s finest military pilots at the rate of some 400 per year.

The program debuted Wednesday and will be shown again at 7 p.m. read more...

Engine failure, compounded by pilot error, was determined to be the cause of a T-6 accident earlier this year at Vance Air Force Base, according to a report released recently by the Air Force.
