While celebrating the Fourth of July, keep in mind no fireworks, including sparklers, are allowed on base or in the Enid city limits, according to Randy Hakman, Vance’s Ground Safety manager.
“If you get caught on base with fireworks you can get a ticket just like you would downtown,” he said.
In Enid, it is prohibited to sell, possess, use or distribute fireworks, according to the Enid Fire Department. read more...

Lt. Col. Robert Rushakoff, 71st Flying Training Wing Staff Judge Advocate at Vance Air Force Base, told military retirees and their spouses attending the Retired Enlisted Association meeting, free legal services and advice are available to military retirees and their spouses.
Rushakoff spoke June 25 at the Retired Enlisted Association meeting at Golden Corral.
“It is important to make an individual’s choices known in several different legal documents to eliminate the need for local courts making decisions for you,” Rushakoff said.
