Jeff Hume, chief operating officer of Continental Resources, the Enid-based independent oil and gas exploration and production company, has a history with Vance Air Force Base.
As a boy growing up in Enid he and his friend, the son of an airman, spent a lot of time in the old non-commissioned officer’s pool, undoubtedly expending a great deal of energy.

Hume returned to Vance Wednesday to discuss energy, as he was featured speaker at the base Energy Conservation Celebration.
During his speech the sounds of excited children, brimming with energy of their own, filled the Vance fitness center gym as they waited for the free food, games and giveaways associated with the celebration.
The celebration marked the end of the base’s energy-saving campaign. read more...
