For much of the past year, members of Team Vance have had to endure warmer than usual indoor summer temperatures, and have had to reach for sweaters to battle the cool temperatures in–doors in the winter.
Those sacrifices paid off Wednesday, literally.
Vance learned Wednesday it had won the Air Education and Training Command Energy Management Incentive Award program and the $1.5 million prize that goes with it.

The days of inspections announced well in advance are over, Col. Chris Nowland, commander of Vance’s 71st Flying Training Wing, told a downtown group Wednesday, and he expects the inspector general’s team to return to the base this fall.
Nowland, who has been commander of the 71st for more than a year, spoke at Enid Air Force Association Chapter 214’s annual community partners breakfast downtown at the Cherokee Strip Conference Center.
Vance underwent a scheduled unit compliance inspection earlier this year, receiving a satisfactory, the first time the base received a rating lower than an excellent. read more...

The time has come for the junior quarterback to make good on that assessment.
After providing a glimpse of his potential last year, Dobbs will be counted on to run the offense and lead the Midshipmen to a seventh consecutive winning season.
