Redeemer Lutheran Church, 215 S. Cleveland, will host a benefit luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 14 for Brenda and Dale Grauberger, who lost their home to fire on June 15.
The dinner will be served by donation, and will include chicken cacciatore, green beans, salad and desserts.
Enid Fire Department responded at 11:50 p.m. June 15 to a 911 call from the Grauberger's home at 4813 Oakcrest. Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from the roof of the home, and despite firefighting efforts much of the roof and the ceilings in the home were destroyed. Enid Fire Marshal Ken Helms told the News & Eagle June 17 the fire was believed to have been started by lightning and accelerated by natural gas.
There were no injuries in the fire, but damages to the home were estimated at $200,000 for the property and $75,000 for the contents.
