Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP)

GAGE, Okla. — A Laverne woman was killed after she was hit by a train at 12:50 Saturday afternoon, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Dawn Renee O’Hair, 44, was walking west on the railroad tracks at Main Street in Gage when she was struck by a 4-engine, 72-car Burlington Northern Santa Fe train heading east, according to the OHP. She was pronounced dead on the scene and transported to a funeral home in Shattuck, the OHP reports.

Train conductor Edwin R. Bullis, 63, and engineer Douglas H. George, 48, both of Amarillo, Texas, were not injured.
