WATONGA, Okla. — An Oklahoma City man was injured in a rollover accident south of Watonga Sunday evening.

Vaidan Michael Ford Freeman, 19, was admitted in stable condition to Watonga Mercy Hospital with trunk-internal injuries, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Freeman was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer north on a county road about 4 miles east and half a mile south of Watonga when he swerved to miss a pothole at about 5:30 p.m. The vehicle departed the roadway to the left, went into a broad slide and rolled one-half times, coming to rest on its top, according to OHP.

The cause of the collision was listed as “speed; exceeding legal limit,” according to the report, and Freeman’s condition was listed as “apparently normal.”

Seat belts were equipped but not in use.
